Meet the Artist

Rock Hill, South Carolina–based artist Nicki Degeneffe has been creating art for most of her life. Though she explored many artistic mediums over the years, her true passion emerged in clay. Since 2012, pottery has been her primary focus—a creative outlet that connects her love of craftsmanship, community, and personal growth.

After more than two decades in corporate payroll management for U.S. and Canadian companies, Nicki decided it was time for change. In 2020, when a friend dropped off a kiln in her carport, it sparked the start of something new. Soon after, she bought her first pottery wheel and transformed her backyard “She Shed” into a small studio. As her shelves filled with finished pieces and her home began to overflow with pottery, she knew it was time to take a leap. In 2021, she left corporate life behind to return to her creative roots full-time.
