About Spinning Out
Nicki opened Spinning Out Pottery Studio & Local Artisan Shop to make pottery approachable, joyful, and community-driven. Known for her patience, humor, and down-to-earth teaching style, she encourages every student to embrace imperfection, learn through failure, and find confidence in creating something by hand.
What started as a personal journey quickly evolved into a community movement. Today, Spinning Out Pottery thrives as both a working studio and an artisan marketplace featuring the work of talented local makers. Located in historic downtown York, South Carolina, the studio has become a welcoming destination for creative experiences, local art, and friendship.
Mission
Our mission is to make the art of pottery accessible, joyful, and inspiring. We welcome beginners, lifelong learners, and local makers to create, connect, and grow through hands-on classes, unique “Throwdown” workshops, and meaningful handmade pieces. By fostering a supportive space in York’s historic district, we help people discover confidence, creativity, and community, one piece at a time.
